The NCD Action Network believes a big part of the solution to tackling global NCDs involves building local communities to work together to address local issues. This takes on many forms that are often best decided on at the local level. We also believe sharing stories, discussing common interests and identifying mutual opportunities for collaboration is an important part of developing a community that is mobilized to address these needs. By connecting the experiences and ideas of local communities with the wider global network, we hope to achieve a powerful local-global model for action.
In response, we are excited to announce a networking opportunity for the YP Chronic and NCD Action Network communities! The campaign is called "3rd Thursdays" or 3T for short, and we invite you to participate. On the 3rd Thursday of each month, NCD Action Network members host regional gatherings around the world. Within a 24-hour period across the globe, individuals interested in global NCDs join together to meet up, get to know each other, discuss common interests and share ideas for ongoing action. See below for more details.
For more information on how to join your local community, please do not hesitate to email Jason Kroening Roche at jasonkroeningroche@gmail.com for further information.

Comment by Benn Grover on May 22, 2012 at 9:48 We're hosting a 3T event this Thursday (May 25th) in Boston.
When: Thursday, May 24th at 6:30PM
Where: Dugout Cafe at 772 Commonwealth Ave, Boston (http://g.co/maps/bx239)
We have a lot going on this week, the World Health Assembly is happening in Geneva where they are discussing a global monitoring framework for NCDs as well as a global set of targets. For Thursday night, our theme will be on framing solutions to the NCD problem/framing a vision. Of course, we'll let the conversation lead wherever it takes us - these are just some thoughts to get us going.
Please let me know if you plan on attending, and also pass the word along to your friends/colleagues. Even if they don't work in NCDs but might be interested, bring them along!
Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you,
Benn Grover
