- Dr Alessandro Demaio trained and worked as a medical doctor in Melbourne, Australia. Whilst working as a doctor at The Alfred Hospital, he completed a Masters in Public Health with Monash University.
In 2010, Alessandro relocated to Denmark and began a PhD fellowship in Global Health with the University of Copenhagen, focusing on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
His primary research project is based in Mongolia, working with the Ministry of Health, UN and other national and international partners to provide an epidemiological evidence-base for current and future public health and policy responses to the growing burden of NCDs.
As a Director of the YP-CDN/NCD Action Global Steering Committee, in 2013 Alessandro will be a Visiting Research Fellow at Harvard University. During this fellowship, he will lead the Global Narrative Initiative; a flagship project of YP-CDN.
