Philip Morris sues the Australian Government
Following on from my recent blog on this topic - the international tobacco giant Philip Morris has initiated legal action against the Australian Government over proposed legislation for plain packaging on tobacco products.
The Australian Health Minister Nicola Roxon stated “We don’t believe that taking that action is in breach of any of our international obligations. We believe that we are able, and the Australian people I think would expect their government, to take action in the interests of public health.”
